VINNIES CEO SLEEPOUT - HELPING THE HOMELESS

Abergeldie's Mick Boyle was among the 236 NSW CEOs to brave the winter chill and the unforgiving pavement of Sydney’s Luna Park for the 2011 Vinnies CEO Sleepout on 16 June.

CEOs from around Australia volunteer to sleep rough for just one night to experience first-hand what more than 100,000 homeless Australians experience every night.

Graham West of St Vincent de Paul Society NSW summed up what the event is all about. “Acknowledging these people is one of the most powerful things you can actually do and for many people knowing that they are cared about helps them take that step forward.”

The 2010 event attracted almost 700 CEOs in seven cities nationally, and raised $2.9 million. This year’s event was an even bigger success.

The total for the 2011 Sleepout program has yet to be tallied, as donations are still being accepted. The Sydney event has raised more than $1.5 million – so far.  To make your donation go to
