Project description:
As part of the Gunghalin Drive Extension Stage 2 Duplication, construction of a 62m, twin span, voided slab road bridge over the Barton Highway, including traffic management, embankment works and pavement restoration.

Complex Challenges:
The construction of the bridge requires complex traffic management to minimise impact on movements on the four lane Barton Highway, one of the main arterial roads accessing Canberra. Full carriageway closures were implemented only for installation of formwork support beams across the highway. Close consultation with the local road authority and TAMS was required.
